Technical help
Browser tips and fixes for sign-in, passwords and other common issues.
Browsers and cookies
For the best experience, use a current version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge, and keep it updated. Cookies let the site recognize that you're signed in as you move between pages - without them you'd be logged out on every page load. The cookie itself is a small, harmless token and doesn't reveal anything about you. Please enable cookies to use the site.
Troubleshooting
- I can't sign in.
- You may have mistyped your username or password - use the password-reset form on the login page to send a reset link to your email. Sessions also log out after a period of inactivity; if that happens, just log back in.
- The site doesn't recognize that I'm logged in.
- Check that cookies are enabled, that anti-virus or firewall software isn't blocking them, and that your browser is up to date.
- I forgot my password or username.
- Use the password-reset form on the login page and we'll email you a link to set a new password. For security we can't look up or send your existing password - you set a new one through the reset link. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder and add our sending address to your safe-sender list.
- It says my email is already in use.
- You may have signed up before. Use the password-reset form to recover the account instead of creating a new one.
- A profile shows as unavailable, or my search returns few results.
- An unavailable profile means that member has hidden it. If a search returns few results, try widening your criteria - the member base is always changing, so try again shortly.
- I was charged twice by mistake.
- Card approvals and declines are decided by our payment processor, not by us. If you were charged twice, contact us through the Contact page and we’ll sort out the refund.
